    Services to Improve Performance Management, Enhance Learning and Evaluation (SIMPLE) is a USAID-funded activity based in Cairo, Egypt and implemented by the QED Group. SIMPLE provides a host of services to support USAID/Egypt’s Program and Technical Offices in areas including monitoring, evaluation, program design, and information management. SIMPLE also provides capacity building to USAID and its partners through a variety of different methods. QED is seeking a Senior Training/Capacity Building Specialist to support a series of trainings for USAID under SIMPLE. This training series is anticipated to run from early/mid 2019 with curriculum and materials development taking place remotely and in-person training delivered in Cairo over 2 week periods. Final schedule is to be determined in consultation with selected specialist.

    Responsibilities

    • Contribute to training curriculum design or course modifications based on USAID current policy and best practices, as required, including PowerPoint and/or other presentation materials, handouts, facilitator guide, and participant notebook.
    • Liaise with USAID staff on course planning and delivery, as needed and under the direction of the SIMPLE Chief of Party or QED HQ staff.
    • Lead or co-facilitate in-person (classroom) MEL training modules.
    • Complete individual module summaries and evaluations following training delivery.
    • Supervise and mentor local trainers.

    Qualifications

    • 8 years training experience required: design, curriculum development and delivering.
    • Familiarity with M&E terminology, tasks, and processes required. Familiarity and/or prior experience with USAID-specific M&E tasks and processes strongly preferred.
    • Experience training within USAID and/or with NGOs and other international donors and delivering training to other multilateral organizations preferred.
    • Ability to engage participants with a dynamic, interactive facilitation style.
    • Demonstrated communication and writing skills, as well as good interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational skills required (i.e., attention to detail and quality assurance, and flexibility).
    • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
    • Fluency in spoken and written English.
    • Arabic language skills would be an asset but not required.
