    The Senior Associate, Global Health and Data supports implementation, backstopping, and technical and program managerial support of global health projects. This position also supports all phases of business development activities to include capture, technical writing and opportunity assessments and will serve as subject matter expert on global health, data, and health policy related opportunities.


    New Business Development

    • Support all phases of new business development including opportunity research, tracking, reconnaissance, recruiting, proposal writing, and proposal coordination
    • Serve as a contributing writer, lead writer, or technical integrator on proposal teams; providing strategic recruitment; and training/mentoring staff; s/he will support multiple, simultaneous new business efforts at different stages of the bid life cycle
    • Contribute to management/coordination of new business efforts: pipeline management, resource allocation, strategic planning, quality control and oversight of proposals

    Technical Assistance

    • Cultivate and manage external stakeholder relationships to expand and facilitate a global network of data use/visualization experts and end users (including academics, donors, policymakers, advocates, implementing agencies, etc.)
    • Assist technical leaders and managers with technical tasks as appropriate (SOW drafts, editing reports, etc.)
    • Support the development, coordination, and implementation of a strategy and communications plan for the Center for Global Data Visualization

    Project Support

    • Acts as a liaison to the field for day-to-day problem solving and support 
    • Independently trouble-shoots common problems and escalates more complex issues to technical and management leaders and follows up until resolved
    • Provides support as needed to all other components of the Global Health business and collaborates with colleagues; provides short-term coverage for traveling staff
    • Additional duties may be assigned depending on evolving business needs


    • Master's degree in public health, global health, health data or a related field
    • Strong technical writing skills
    • Ability to conceptualize and write or lead sections of a proposal or project report
    • At least 5 years of progressive experience in international development project management and technical services
    • At least 4 years of experience working with and in developing countries
    • Prior experience contributing to technical client proposals and supporting business development
    • Proficiency or fluency in a foreign language, preferred
    • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with key clients and stakeholder for proposal development such as USAID and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, preferred
