Overview

The QED Group is looking for a talented individual to work as an Intern at our Arlington, VA office. The intern will be working within our Innovations team, assisting with research, operations and coordination of activities within this group, and will gain valuable experience in the areas of new business development, strategy, and the intersection of innovation, data analytics, and technology.

Responsibilities

Tasks include:

  • Platform management (including registering new members, troubleshooting, running reports, creating new campaigns, and migrating data to new platform)
  • Knowledge management support (including migrating idea information to MS Project, maintaining Sharepoint pages and related databases, and developing briefs on QED's innovations)
  • Research on innovation in the larger international development and corporate context (including development of literature reviews on relevant topics)
  • Business development support (including research on relevant funders and development of capability statements)
  • Support to the development of the innovation process and strategy (including transcription of interviews and focus groups)
  • Event support as needed

 

There will be opportunities for the intern to design their own research strategy, under the guidance of the Innovation Program Manager, as well as opportunities to attend relevant events and present findings to the larger QED audience.

Qualifications

  • Completed or pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations or similar field.
  • Interest in learning about international development generally, and specifically in learning about USAID development objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrable ability to prioritize among multiple competing requests.
  • Able to produce high quality work under deadline.
